Updated August 2026. The expensive mistake on Florida impact work is usually the spec, not the sticker. Statewide Windows & Doors bids openings with a Florida Product Approval or Miami-Dade NOA that matches sizes and design pressures. Call (561) 816-4010.
Five mistakes we still see
- Buying the lowest line item. A bid that skipped permit, waterproofing, or a matching approval is not cheaper. Compare the spec.
- Ignoring who sets the units. The assembly only performs if it is anchored and flashed to the approval. Ask who is on the house. See 8 questions before you hire.
- Skipping the approval paperwork. ENERGY STAR stickers do not replace a Florida Product Approval. Code and HVHZ vs wind-borne debris region come first.
- Leaving openings uncovered. One cheap slider can undo the wind-mitigation form. See every window.
- CBS without waterproofing. See block waterproofing.
We do not promise a lower electric bill from an energy rating alone.
